Our Projects
In July 2006 OPAAL appointed Kath Parson as our National Project Manager to manage our three-year Lottery Programme. The aims of the programme are
- To improve understanding and appreciation among commissioners, the general public and older people of the ways independent advocacy helps older people achieve change
- Increase the support options available to older people to enable them to achieve their rights
- Enhance the capability of advocacy to counter abuse and neglect.
OPAAL has developed five main project strands to take forward this work. We are working with older people on all five of these project streams.
